The Kingdom of Heaven is at Hand

As we look around in the world, we see that something isn’t right.

People live in poverty.

Sickness and disease are everywhere.

The strong oppress and abuse those weaker than themselves.

Violence and fear are a normal part of life for so many people.

People long for love and connection and instead feel isolated and alone.

People try escape into alcohol, drugs, sex or acquiring material goods.

But nothing really fills that emptiness for long.

Deep down every person knows that this is not the way it was meant to be.

Deep down everyone seeks for a way to make this life mean more or a way to make the pain stop.

I too felt like this once upon a time.

I struggled with the pain and suffering in this world, and sort different ways to try escape from it.

I struggled for many years living with no real hope or happiness. Living with so many emotional and physical pains and problems.

Never feeling loved or accepted by anyone.

I tried escaping into all the things I already mentioned, alcohol, drugs, sex or acquiring material goods.

But nothing worked. My life was hopeless.

But then I discovered a different way and a different life.

Creation

The reason that the world feels so wrong is that violence, sickness, disease, suffering, and pain were never part of the original creation plan.

We were created for love. We were created to receive and be loved by God the maker of heaven and earth.

God created the universe and everything in it for mankind. Everything made was perfect. There was no death, sickness, suffering or pain.

Mankind was to rule the world whilst walking in loving relationship and fellowship with God. God would be over man and man was to be over the world. 

Fall of Man

But the evil one, Satan or the devil, came and tempted the first man and woman, causing them to doubt God and to disobey the one rule that they were to obey.

This one act caused the fall of mankind and caused us to become spiritual cut off from God.

By this one act Mankind had chosen death instead of life.

God is the source of life and everything good comes from Him.

Death entered the world. Pain and suffering entered the world. Violence entered the world.

All the death, violence and suffering that you see in the world around you today came from man being spiritual cut off from God.

Instead of serving a loving, good God they became slaves to the evil one and the sinful nature that separation from God caused.

Satan was handed control of the world by mankind.

From that point on mankind was sinful and turned away from God and sort to rule their own lives.

Mankind’s sinful state

Everyone has at some point in their life broken God’s rules.

God’s rules are based around not committing violence or causing pain for another person.

I think there is no one here that could honestly say that they have never done something wrong.

We have caused pain or suffering to another person. We may have said hurtful things, or lied, or perhaps we have physically hurt someone, or stolen from them. Or used them and abused them in some way.

We have all fallen short of the standard of God.

We have all felt the shame of knowing that we don’t live up to God’s standards and rarely even our own.

In our own merits we just never seem to be good enough.

And you know what…we’re not.

There is nothing we can do that will make us good enough to earn God’s love.

There is nothing we can do in our own power that will fix the mess we have made of the world.

There is nothing we can do on our own that will stop us hurting each other.

How do we escape from this painful cycle that we are in?

What hope is there for us?

I’m here to tell you there is hope for us

There is a solution to the problem of our sin and everything it causes

Birth of Jesus

Even though it was our choice to turn away from God that had caused all the problems and everything that had gone wrong was our fault.

God in his mercy and love for us made a way for us once again to have a relationship and spiritual connection with Him and thereby have true life again.

God sent His beloved Son, Jesus Christ to earth to be born of a virgin women and the Holy Spirit.

Jesus was born spiritual connected to God and without the sinful nature of fallen mankind.

Life of Jesus

Jesus grew up in a poor family.

Jesus grew up understanding the struggles and pains we go through.

Jesus grew up seeing all the hurt and suffering around him.

Jesus was just like any other boy growing up into a man, the only difference being, Jesus never sinned.

Jesus never did anything that was not what God wanted Him to do. He was guided by the spirit of God living inside of him, not the corrupted fallen nature of mankind.

When Jesus became a man, he started the work that his father, God, had sent him to do.

And what was the work Jesus had been sent to do?

Jesus was sent to proclaim and demonstrate that the Kingdom of Heaven was here.

The Kingdom of Heaven…where God ruled. Where the goodness of God was shown.

Jesus was sent to turn people back to the God that loved them and cared for them and could free them from their pain and suffering.

And what did the Kingdom of Heaven entail?

Jesus showed us by going about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.

Jesus called people to follow Him, as He was the way back to God.

For three years Jesus went about demonstrating the Kingdom of Heaven. Everywhere he went people were set free from their pain and suffering. They were shown love and acceptance and shown how to live and walk with God.

Everyone that came to Him he healed for there is no sickness or disease in the Kingdom of Heaven.

When it became know that Jesus had the power to heal, everywhere He went people came to Him asking for mercy.

Asking for healing for their friends, family or their own personal healing.

He cast out demons and set free those that were trapped in shame, bringing acceptance to others that had been dismissed as a lost cause or as not important.

Jesus, empowered by the spirit of God, demonstrated the Kingdom of Heaven and carried the Kingdom with him everywhere he went.

Death of Jesus

But Jesus had been sent to the world for a greater purpose than to just demonstrating the Kingdom of Heaven. Jesus had been sent to the world to make a way for us to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

Jesus was to be killed and punished in our place. To carry the sins of the entire world in His body as He was killed on a cross. To use His perfect blood as the payment for the sins of the world.

For there can be no forgiveness of sins without the shedding of blood.

With the help of jealous sinful men, Jesus was beaten, whipped, humiliated, rejected and killed in our place.

Not only did he carry all the sins of the world, but he also took on all the consequences of that sin – sickness, disease, pain, rejection, suffering.

Jesus carried it all for us.

Jesus bore the full punishment for our sins.

Jesus suffered violence

Jesus bore our shame

Jesus bore our rejection

Jesus bore our diseases

Jesus suffered and bore all of this for you and me.

Jesus paid for every single sin that you or I have ever committed.

Resurrection of Jesus

But once the sins of the world had been paid for by His death, three days later God raised Jesus from the dead.

With the death and resurrection of Jesus, the Kingdom of Heaven was made available to all mankind.

The Kingdom of Heaven.

Where sickness and disease do not belong.

Where love and acceptance exist.

Where pain and suffering are no more.

Where there is loving communion and relationship with God.

One day a new heaven and a new earth will be made by God. God will invite those that love and serve Jesus to come and live with them forever in a paradise.

Life with Jesus

But God does not leave us in suffering and pain till that day.

When Jesus died on the cross and then rose again, he made it possible for us to once again have a spiritual connection and relationship with God, the creator of heaven and earth.

To once again live under God’s gentle, loving guidance as He shows and directs us the way we should be living. Granting us freedom from sickness, disease and poverty under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. To enter the Kingdom of Heaven while we are still here in this world.

While Jesus was still on the earth he appeared to his disciples and gave them the same mission God had given Him.

To proclaim that the Kingdom of Heaven was here.

Jesus sent His disciples out to demonstrate that Kingdom.

To heal the sick, raise the dead, cast out demons.

Jesus’s command is still the same today.

Empowered by the Spirit of God Jesus’s disciples are to heal the sick, raise the dead, cast out demons.

To free people from the consequences of their sin and lead them to a relationship with God through Jesus.

You may ask why I am telling you this.

Well, when I was at my lowest point. When I had lost or hope and reason for living. Jesus reached out and saved me.

He called me and made me one of His disciples.

He empowered me with the Holy Spirit of God.

He made me a citizen of the Kingdom of Heaven.

He called me to heal the sick, raise the dead, cast out demons.

To proclaim to others that the Kingdom of Heaven is here and is available to all mankind.

Since then, working under the power of the Holy Spirit of God I’ve seen many miracles and wonders.

I’ve seen those paralyzed following a stroke have them limbs function normally again.

I’ve seen cancer instantly healed and all pain taken away.

I’ve seen blood diseases healed and high fevers disappear.

I’ve seen arthritis instantly healed, joints no longer stiff or painful.

I’ve seen blindness cured, bringing freedom from a life of suffering and begging

I’ve seen these miracles with my own eyes.

I’ve seen the joy and freedom that Jesus brings to people’s lives

I’ve seen the way life with Jesus lifts people out of poverty and gives them hope

Jesus is still alive today

Jesus is seated at the right hand of God

Jesus is still showing people the Kingdom of Heaven

Jesus is calling you home to His Kingdom

Jesus is calling you out of the kingdom of darkness and into the Kingdom of Heaven

So, people are left with a choice.

They can somehow numb themselves to the point where they don’t care anymore that they are hurting or causing pain and suffering to others around them…

Or they can receive the gift that Jesus is offering to all mankind

The gift of life

Jesus has already paid the cost for us to have it.

The way into the Kingdom of Heaven is wide open.

Jesus is the way the truth and the life

Jesus is offering you entry into the Kingdom of Heaven.

To once again become spiritually connected with God, the maker of heaven and earth.

To walk in the blessing and protection of God.

To have God the maker of heaven and earth as your loving, caring Father.

A father that will care for all your needs.

Both spiritual and physical.

Will you answer Jesus’s call today?

Will you come be a citizen of Heaven like me?

I promise you a life walking in constant fellowship with the risen Son of God is the life we were created for.

A life of freedom, provision, power and authority in close obedience and relationship with the Heavenly Father.

For “no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him” (1 Corinthians 2:9)

For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.” (Romans 10:9-10)
